about

The fascists will be gone from power in four days (barring further coup d’états of course)… what am I going to write about when the adults are in control again?

This was written for the 2018 RPM Challenge. I know all of the guitars used a fuzz face pedal then. Also, the drummer in my band said this one was okay. That’s what sticks out for me. It was supposed to be a bass loop. It still mostly is, but I did monkey with a couple of sections.

All of the guitar parts are a Gibson ES-335 Pro through both a Vox AC15 and a Fender Bassbreaker 15. The pedal chain for the rhythm tracks is a Klon KTR and a Keeley D&M Drive. For the quietish solo in the middle I added an MXR Phase 90 and a Wampler Faux Tape Echo. The rest of the leads used a Wren and Cuff Tri Pi ’70 into the
KTR.

lyrics

will it stop no one can say when
moving on toward the end
anything you want to recommend

stand up stand up
the time is now
rise up rise up
I’ll show you how
stand up stand up
you can’t back down
rise up rise up
you hear the sound

something new we’ve never seen
swallowed up in the machine
Road is clear conscience clean
Open your eyes and end this bad dream
